In a country where elections determine who should lead, politicians run multiple campaigns. They aim to unseat or retain a seat in parliament. The incumbents gear up their courtship with additional shaggy promises. Those striving to lead deliver sweeties. The moment ends when elections are over. Do you know what they actually do when they want your votes? Attend every church invitation. The church is where politicians easily collect votes. A wise politician does not stick to his denomination when elections are near. He honours every invitation regardless of the doctrinal difference. Such honours are not genuine but conditional and risky. Although the inviting church might benefit from a politician's pocket, he lures them only for votes. Visit churches, including mosques. A few days ago, I accused MTN South Sudan of robbing me through one of its staff members in Nimule. After I raised the complaint on my media platform, the headquarters intervened by conducting an investigation into the Nimule branch and taking disciplinary action against the staff member involved. I am pleased to have been part of the investigation process, which demonstrated a commitment to transparency. I would like to appreciate MTN South Sudan for taking my complaint seriously. Many citizens have experienced similar situations at the hands of some staff members, yet their concerns often go unheard. Having investigated the matter and warned the responsible staff, we hope that the illegal practice of overcharging customers for SIM cards will come to an end. Between 2017 and 2019, I wrote several articles about the fraudulent practices of Kampala University. Those who were its students were aggressively defensive, only to concede later. This happened after the Ministry of Higher Education declared the university illegal. Although the students pursued a legal case against the university, they sadly lost. Education is a right for everyone, but a learning institution should provide quality and legitimate services to the public.
