IS GOD, GOD? A short convictions

The question "Is God God?" continues to challenge humanity unabatedly. Many philosophers attempt to understand who God is and what He demands of humanity from a natural view. Having failed to grasp and come up with a clear perspective of who God is, many have fallen short of sight and wisdom. Will man understand God, for one? Sure, only those who believe do understand. The Bible explains that no one can know God enough because He is too much for a sinful mind to know. To answer this question, I explore my conviction about who God is as a self-existent creator and what He demands of me. Note, those who do not believe and say God does not exist; the Bible characterises them as “fools” (Psalm 14:1). God is the Creator. In Africa, tradition believes in a supreme being that created all that exists. This Supreme Being created nature and man altogether. People venerate the Supreme Being in the form of a statue made of wood, metal, or an object. Well, that is how one approaches the...

I ALMOST GOT MARRIED TO A DINKA LADY IN 2007

Truth is bitter! By: Abunerry, Ayella  22-3-2026 Torit  I can still recall all my Dinka girlfriends. After finishing high school in 2006, I fully settled in Nimule, a place with thousands of beautiful Dinka Bor ladies. However, my first girlfriend, whom I met in 2005, was Adut from Yirol. Adut was a beautiful student at one of the secondary schools in Nimule. She would visit me frequently at my point of sale (I operated the first call box in Nimule). We engaged deeply. As a young, vibrant adult, many Dinka ladies fell in love with me. I loved them, but Adut stood out above the rest. She had dimples, a curved figure, and a captivating presence. Her voice moved me every time she spoke. She did not have a phone, but I had a Nokia 1100, which gave me an advantage over many other young men. Even those close to her struggled to get her attention. Despite the usual issues of cattle and other marriage demands, Adut encouraged me to remain strong in the face of rejection by her tribe. ...

IF “NYEKO”, WHERE DO WE PLACE “OPINION” OR “TAM”?

By Abunerry, Ayella 21-3-2026 Torit  I wanted to go live and respond individually to some responses to my article I published on 18-3-2026 (https://abunerry82.blogspot.com/2026/03/panyikwara-community-throws-magwi.html), but I realised those who framed me with the title “Nyeko” do not have data to follow it. In this article, I will use much time but say little regarding the keyword "Nyeko". The word "Nyeko", or jealousy in English, is common in Acholi etymology. Unfortunately, it is incorrectly used most of the time, even when an issue is presented as criticism. I have observed that my people fear criticism more than Nyeko itself; that is why the quality of services is a dream in many of their settings. First, many heard about the appointment of the commissioner from my timeline, where I gave him a warm welcome to his new office. As a concerned citizen of the county, many know my advocacy through my writings. If that were true, why would I turn my back on the commis...

PANYIKWARA COMMUNITY THROWS MAGWI COUNTY COMMISSIONER UNDER AYII BRIDGE

By Pastor Abunerry, Ayella 18-3-2026 Torit When Hon. Lam Gabriel Francis was appointed commissioner, the youth, women, and almost all stakeholders celebrated. His appointment came at a time when the county is struggling to maintain peace and security and to advance much-needed development. It has rarely been the case in the history of Magwi County for a community to celebrate the appointment of one of its own to such a significant public office , except in less critical positions. However, Panyikwara , where the commissioner hails from, did what many would consider unprecedented by offering a lavish reward to the appointing authority. While such a gesture may appear commendable, it ultimately undermines the commissioner’s leadership. As a public figure, his office should transcend clan interests , yet the celebration appears clan-centered and weakens the sense of collective responsibility across the county. First, the office of the commissioner is a public position that no single c...
