IF “NYEKO”, WHERE DO WE PLACE “OPINION” OR “TAM”?

Torit

I wanted to go live and respond individually to some responses to my article I published on 18-3-2026 (https://abunerry82.blogspot.com/2026/03/panyikwara-community-throws-magwi.html), but I realised those who framed me with the title “Nyeko” do not have data to follow it. In this article, I will use much time but say little regarding the keyword "Nyeko".

The word "Nyeko", or jealousy in English, is common in Acholi etymology. Unfortunately, it is incorrectly used most of the time, even when an issue is presented as criticism. I have observed that my people fear criticism more than Nyeko itself; that is why the quality of services is a dream in many of their settings.

First, many heard about the appointment of the commissioner from my timeline, where I gave him a warm welcome to his new office. As a concerned citizen of the county, many know my advocacy through my writings. If that were true, why would I turn my back on the commissioner today in the name of “Nyeko”?

Secondly, I have an eighty per cent chance of claiming the commissionership, but I am missing the twenty per cent because of the R-ARCSS. Those who know the provisions of the 2018 agreement will understand that. For that reason, how can I be jealous of my brother, Hon. Lam, who is an SPLM member, while I am in the opposition camp?

Third, in my article published on 13-1-2026 (https://abunerry82.blogspot.com/2026/01/is-magwi-county-tribalised.html), I defended the commissioner when a concerned citizen raised a sensitive issue regarding his appointment. If I could do that proudly, even though I am not a member of his party, why would I be jealous now?

Fourth, if you follow my family lineage carefully, somewhere we are related to the commissioner. That alone is enough to show that my article was simply a criticism and not jealousy.

In this case, whoever is sound and has gone to school should begin to evaluate their academic papers before they are treated as waste for denying the opportunity for positive thinking.

People like Oroma James, who have travelled to Australia to improve themselves, should by this time have learned where to place “opinion” and “Nyeko” separately. They should have known that farming is the backbone of their “nguncet” instead of ironically denying its vitality.

Finally, if you have read my thoughts well, you would have understood what I am focusing on. Think about another community that would appeal to the governor secretly to oust the commissioner in the future with false allegations. Remember how our other commissioner suffered false allegations which almost cost him his life. It is the same method of “our son” rhetoric.

The best celebration of such could be in a highly contested seat like where Engineer Gama was appointed, which is eyed by all the 64 tribes. In Magwi, whom do we compete with since we are only two tribes, which makes the Acholi position default by the R-ARCSS?

Concisely, where do you place opinion if Nyeko is the only way for us? We all support Hon. Lam, not because I know him, but because he is a leader appointed to govern the entire county. We should protect him from secret intentions to remove him because he hails from a particular community. That is possible only when the “our son” phrase is openly minimized.

MAGWI COUNTY UNDER CATTLE ATTACKS AGAIN.

File Image July 11, 2025. To the Commissioner,  Magwi County Magwi County Maize Crops under Cattle Attack Again I am writing to inform you that Magwi County is once again facing an attack by cattle driven by the Dinka Balalo of Uganda. This is a direct result of an evacuation in response to the President's executive order aimed at stopping cattle-related conflicts in the Acholi region of Northern Uganda. As you may recall, the last conflict in Magwi County, which occurred in February, claimed lives and was not an isolated incident. Similar conflicts have recurred since 2014, when the Dinka Balalo from Bor forcefully entered Magwi County and the Equatoria region. Hon, you and the Magwi County community need to be aware of the potential resettlement of cattle in our lands. Our county's livelihood depends on its fertile soil, whereas the Dinka Balalo's survival relies on milk production. I urge you and your security team to remain vigilant and prevent any cattle ...

IN HIS FOOTSTEPS: The Characters of A Leader's Heart

Meta AI "This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work." 1 Timothy 3:1-7 Devotion 10. July 10, 2025 God's Design for Leadership   God alone is omniscient and sovereign. He designed leadership with specific character traits, appointing humanity to steward the world on His behalf. As we progress through Scripture, we observe God's design for leadership and the character traits required of each individual.   For example, He denied Saul leadership despite the pressure from the people. He chose David from among Jesse's children because David met His criteria, possessing the character and qualities worthy of leadership. In leadership, there are specific characteristics that leaders must embody to lead God's people. Paul listed these qualities in his letter to Timothy, emphasizing integrity, humility, and servanthood as essential for leading the church of God.   The Contrast Between God's Design and the Worl...

ESTABLISH A SEPARATE AND INDEPENDENT DINKA KINGDOM WITHIN THEIR TERRITORIES.” Advocate Kenyi Advises President Kiir

Advocate & human rights lawyer Kenyi YA Kenyi said that Salva Kiir has long abandoned the national interest of South Sudan and instead chosen to pursue a narrow and divisive tribal agenda. From the time he was appointed deputy—based on tribal considerations—during the liberation struggle to all his subsequent roles within the regime, Kiir has consistently implemented policies that prioritize the interests of one ethnic group: the Jieng (Dinka), at the direct expense of the other 63 tribes of South Sudan.   Through his actions and appointments, he has systematically planted the seeds of division, ethnic discord, and mistrust among our people. Under his leadership, South Sudan—a sovereign nation built by the collective sacrifice of 64 tribes—has been reduced to what increasingly appears to be an absolute Jieng Kingdom, with Salva Kiir acting as its self-declared King.   If Kiir remains committed to advancing his tribal project, then we are left with no option but to gran...
