IS GOD, GOD? A short convictions

The question "Is God God?" continues to challenge humanity unabatedly. Many philosophers attempt to understand who God is and what He demands of humanity from a natural view. Having failed to grasp and come up with a clear perspective of who God is, many have fallen short of sight and wisdom. Will man understand God, for one? Sure, only those who believe do understand. The Bible explains that no one can know God enough because He is too much for a sinful mind to know. To answer this question, I explore my conviction about who God is as a self-existent creator and what He demands of me. Note, those who do not believe and say God does not exist; the Bible characterises them as “fools” (Psalm 14:1).

God is the Creator. In Africa, tradition believes in a supreme being that created all that exists. This Supreme Being created nature and man altogether. People venerate the Supreme Being in the form of a statue made of wood, metal, or an object. Well, that is how one approaches the creator God that is known. However, in reality, God the creator made the very statues or objects transformed into idols for worship. With Him and by Him, all things, animals, nature, and the world, seen and unseen, came into existence. Through His creation, we glorify Him. Through His creature, nature declares His majesty. His creation reveals His love and power. His creation reveals His beautiful handiwork (Psalm 145:3–7).

God is self-existent. Societies like those of the Buddha have their idolised god called Gautama Buddha. In Africa, we have many gods, such as the god of rain, the god of blessing, etc. We have homes for them called shrines where their images are kept for veneration. Special mediums or agents model those gods to be worshipped. Many are polytheists or syncretists. People believe in a created god and position them to be worshipped. This reality connects the physical world to the unknown world. In view of this AT worldview, God is not self-existent. He exists in the form of an idol, distant on mountains or valleys. The truth is clear: if God is not self-existent, why do we worship something that I can create?

The argument here is that, having understood whom God really is, I trust and believe in the self-existing God, the God who does not need my directions and instructions to do or not to do something in an emergency. That God who is self-existent is not limited by weather, and He does not get hungry either. He does not need a toilet for His wastes or a house to sleep in during the nights. Not even a single day does He complain of heat or coldness. He, God, is self-existent. With Him, I will live to exist in eternity one day.

Yes, God is God. He is the Creator; He created you and everything. Nothing exists without Him. As a result, He wants us to worship, glorify, and love Him always. We cannot worship what we do not know, lest we worship in vain like the Samaritans (John 4:23–24). We cannot glorify God if we do not know and understand Him. We cannot love God if we do not love our brothers whom we have seen (1 John 4:12). God is God because He is the Creator and exists independently. All creation acknowledges this truth and worships Him gloriously. This truth should keep us loving and worshipping Him. This truth holds the Church and the world together.

MAGWI COUNTY UNDER CATTLE ATTACKS AGAIN.

File Image July 11, 2025. To the Commissioner,  Magwi County Magwi County Maize Crops under Cattle Attack Again I am writing to inform you that Magwi County is once again facing an attack by cattle driven by the Dinka Balalo of Uganda. This is a direct result of an evacuation in response to the President's executive order aimed at stopping cattle-related conflicts in the Acholi region of Northern Uganda. As you may recall, the last conflict in Magwi County, which occurred in February, claimed lives and was not an isolated incident. Similar conflicts have recurred since 2014, when the Dinka Balalo from Bor forcefully entered Magwi County and the Equatoria region. Hon, you and the Magwi County community need to be aware of the potential resettlement of cattle in our lands. Our county's livelihood depends on its fertile soil, whereas the Dinka Balalo's survival relies on milk production. I urge you and your security team to remain vigilant and prevent any cattle ...

IN HIS FOOTSTEPS: The Characters of A Leader's Heart

Meta AI "This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work." 1 Timothy 3:1-7 Devotion 10. July 10, 2025 God's Design for Leadership   God alone is omniscient and sovereign. He designed leadership with specific character traits, appointing humanity to steward the world on His behalf. As we progress through Scripture, we observe God's design for leadership and the character traits required of each individual.   For example, He denied Saul leadership despite the pressure from the people. He chose David from among Jesse's children because David met His criteria, possessing the character and qualities worthy of leadership. In leadership, there are specific characteristics that leaders must embody to lead God's people. Paul listed these qualities in his letter to Timothy, emphasizing integrity, humility, and servanthood as essential for leading the church of God.   The Contrast Between God's Design and the Worl...

ESTABLISH A SEPARATE AND INDEPENDENT DINKA KINGDOM WITHIN THEIR TERRITORIES.” Advocate Kenyi Advises President Kiir

Advocate & human rights lawyer Kenyi YA Kenyi said that Salva Kiir has long abandoned the national interest of South Sudan and instead chosen to pursue a narrow and divisive tribal agenda. From the time he was appointed deputy—based on tribal considerations—during the liberation struggle to all his subsequent roles within the regime, Kiir has consistently implemented policies that prioritize the interests of one ethnic group: the Jieng (Dinka), at the direct expense of the other 63 tribes of South Sudan.   Through his actions and appointments, he has systematically planted the seeds of division, ethnic discord, and mistrust among our people. Under his leadership, South Sudan—a sovereign nation built by the collective sacrifice of 64 tribes—has been reduced to what increasingly appears to be an absolute Jieng Kingdom, with Salva Kiir acting as its self-declared King.   If Kiir remains committed to advancing his tribal project, then we are left with no option but to gran...
