Advocate & human rights lawyer Kenyi YA Kenyi said that Salva Kiir has long abandoned the national interest of South Sudan and instead chosen to pursue a narrow and divisive tribal agenda. From the time he was appointed deputy—based on tribal considerations—during the liberation struggle to all his subsequent roles within the regime, Kiir has consistently implemented policies that prioritize the interests of one ethnic group: the Jieng (Dinka), at the direct expense of the other 63 tribes of South Sudan.
Through his actions and appointments, he has systematically planted the seeds of division, ethnic discord, and mistrust among our people. Under his leadership, South Sudan—a sovereign nation built by the collective sacrifice of 64 tribes—has been reduced to what increasingly appears to be an absolute Jieng Kingdom, with Salva Kiir acting as its self-declared King.
If Kiir remains committed to advancing his tribal project, then we are left with no option but to grant him full autonomy to establish a separate and independent Dinka Kingdom within their own territories—where he can freely implement his exclusive tribal policies, especially given that 99% of his community appears to support this agenda. He has failed to unite the country or guide it toward peace, development, or justice.
Instead, his leadership has been defined by exclusion, corruption, militarization, and ethnic favoritism—all of which have profoundly undermined our national identity, fractured our social fabric, and derailed our dream of unity in diversity. South Sudan belongs to all its people—equally and without exception. We cannot, and will not, stand by and allow one man and his loyalists to dismantle a nation that was born from the blood and sacrifices of millions.
We demand our country back from this tribal and oppressive regime. The future of South Sudan must be inclusive, democratic, and anchored in equality for all its citizens, not dominated by tribal supremacy.
