FACE THE CRISES OF LIFE WITH PERSEVERANCE

"For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise." Hebrews 10:36. One of our pastors, my mentor, who recently passed away, bravely battled pneumonic cancer for almost 15 years. I had the privilege to consult with him about life and spiritual growth during his lifetime.   In 2021, when his condition started to worsen, I felt discouraged and lost hope. However, he shared a powerful statement: "The devil is playing with my bones, but never will he touch my spirit life," referencing Ezekiel 37:11.   This moment made me realise the importance of persevering through life's crises, and I stopped worrying about his life. Many believers face life-threatening challenges that hinder their spiritual development and growth. Without perseverance, they might burn out. Like the pastor, who maintained his faith despite adversity, the Apostle Paul encouraged the Corinthians to persevere like athletes striving for a ...

THE GIRLD CHILD: Born With Purpose

The Girl Child: Born with Purpose Not my choice, a girl I was born With a purpose, He designed to mould A life of worth, I am redeemed Not defined by abuse, I am deemed   With every scar, a story's told A tale of life, the heart of gold To never surrender in life's toil But discipline and serenity I must unfold   Did I disobey sound judgment? That led me down a road to lament Through the streets of Hope, I search in vain For solace, but find only pain   Why do calamities befall us so? On us, where is the focus to know? I am a girl child, born wholly mine Not for abuse, but truly divine   Give back our dignity, the right we command Not just a request, but obedience to stand I am a beautiful girl born never to tumble low May peace and justice prevail to uphold the law   This poem is purposefully inscribed to  advocate for the rights, dignity, and protection of girl children, particularly those who have experienc...

FACE THE CRISIS OF LIFE WITH FAITH

"For assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20). Devotion, 29th June 2025 Our local church's conviction for the year 2025 is “We shall overcome by faith” (John 16:33). This theme encourages the Church to focus on the power of faith in the face of challenges faced in their daily lives. As we embark on this journey, I am thrilled to witness many testimonies emerging, including those from my family. To truly grasp the significance of this theme, let's define faith. Faith is a fundamental Christian concept that shapes our decisions, beliefs, and values. The writer of Hebrews 11:1 beautifully defines faith as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." This definition sets the stage for understanding the transformative power of faith in our lives.   Building on this foundatio...

KIIRACRAZY FREEDOMIASIS: THE DEADLY DISEASE INFECTING SOUTH SUDANESE YOUTH

KIIRACRAZY FREEDOMIASIS DISCOVERED Def: Currently, South Sudanese are suffering silently from a viral disease that broke out immediately after their independence. In its earliest stage, several local doctors known as Spilematists tried to minimise its causative agents in vain. This viral disease is attributed to and often called KIIRACRAZY. The virus that causes this freedomiasis is transmitted through SALIVA TUTOLOGY. You can get it through MAKWELORIC LEUTHIC acid, but you can also be exposed through Melkaline Parasites.   History . Freedomiasis first went unnoticed years ago until some doctors from Torit, in 1958, developed clinical operations to discover which virus was behind the death of the population. They described the disease as very infectious. At the time of this research, freedomonae from reaction to infection is very acute because of the causative and dynamic virus produced by Akooloric acid and now transformed to Melic acid. Since 2013, freedomiasis has been r...

Concern Over the Increasing Centralization of Authority in South Sudan

By Advocate Kenyi Yasin 27th June, 2025 I am expressing my deep concern over the increasing centralization of authority in South Sudan, particularly the efforts to undermine Central Equatoria State (CES) and the governance of its capital, Juba, by the junta regime in Juba.   Across democratic societies worldwide—and under South Sudan’s own Local Government Act of 2009—local leaders such as mayors and county commissioners are expected to be elected by the people, ensuring that local governance remains accountable, participatory, and responsive. Regrettably, the law remains unimplemented, and appointments to key local offices continue to be made through centralized authority rather than democratic processes.   Recent moves to nationalize the Juba City Council, under the claim that it solely belongs to the national government, raise significant concerns. These actions not only diminish the constitutional role of CES but also undermine the principles of decentralization enshri...

THE UNFORGETTABLE FACE OF THE SPLM

Wickedness is disobeying clear commands. Like stealing, despite knowing it's wrong. Eve's actions showed wickedness indeed. A choice that led to consequences unseeded. Wickedness is denying God what's due. Offering the wrong, fuelled by anger anew. Cain's story shows wickedness in its might. A brother's blood crying out in the night.   Wickedness is pride that exalts itself. Confusion reigns, as seen in Babel's wealth. A tower built high, yet lacking sense, A land of confusion, devoid of defense.   Wickedness is ignoring warnings clear, Laughing off danger, despite consequences near. Noah's Flood consumed the disobedient crowd. A lesson learnt too late, in a watery cloud.   Wickedness is clinging to worldly gain. Disregarding safety and eternal pain. Lot's wife looked back and was consumed by fire. A lesson in obedience and God's desire.   Wickedness is hate speech, dehumanising, too. We're create...

FACE THE CRISES OF LIFE WITH GENTLENESS

"Blessed are the gentle, for they will inherit the earth." Matthew 5:5 NLT Devotion. 27th June, 2025 Life's challenges can be overwhelming, making it difficult to remain gentle and composed. We all face situations that can make us defensive and tense. However, as believers, we hold a different standard. Jesus rebuked Peter for lashing out, telling him to calm down when he cut Malchus' ear, reminding him to face challenges with gentleness. This kind of response is what God encourages us to have—gentle, calm, and compassionate, even when emotions are high. But is it possible? Matthew emphasises the importance of gentleness in his words, saying, ‘Blessed are the gentle, for they will inherit the earth' (5:5). This is encouraging, isn’t it? We strive for better things in life, and gentleness can be the key. Jesus exemplifies gentleness by saying, “Learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart” (Matthew 11:29). In our daily lives, we face various challenges,...

BRUTAL LETTER FROM UAE TO SOUTH SUDAN

From President Kiir, 26th June, 2025 I am at peace in the UAE; some think I am fleeing. But South Sudanese people, I see as jokers, lacking sense. I do not know their map; Akon's not my goal. Your struggles are not mine; I do not care to know.   No salary, no food, no school, no health care, Fighting, death, and hunger—not my concern, I declare. The African Development Bank's survey—nothing to me. 92% in poverty—your problem, not mine to see.   I was never your president, just a businessperson. J1 visa for my family, not for your gain. Over twenty years of work, I have taken what's mine. No condolences sent, no visits; you are not my kind. My focus is my family, myself, and my wealth. Mathiang Anyor's fate is not my concern; no wealth. I've contracted UPDF; I'll supervise with ease. Enjoying UAE life is my expertise.   Message: Mind your business. Satire Poem.  Rewritten

FACE THE CRISIS OF LIFE WITH PATIENCE

"Wait on the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord." Psalm 27:14 NKJV. Devotion, 26th June, 2025 To me, people who wait patiently to see their results are scientists in laboratories. They observe and handle every mistake that might occur. Due to their patience, they succeed in many things, even despite the difficulty of the challenge. Building on this idea, like scientists or doctors, the scripture encourages believers to face every crisis with patience by waiting on the Lord's time for a result. When believers face crises in life, they should not rush to a conclusion but rather trust God with courage. For His Word says, "He shall strengthen your heart." Psalm 27:14. He alone knows when the crisis will end. In fact, David endured great suffering but waited on the Lord until he became the King of Israel; that is why he encouraged his readers to wait on the Lord. Many are waiting for the Lord's return; the Bible says, ...

FACE THE CRISES OF LIFE WITH CONTENTMENT

"Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." Philippians 4:11-12 NJKV Devotion, 25th June 2025 Contentment is a vital Christian virtue that involves being satisfied with what God has given you. It's about being happy with the little you have or receive, regardless of other demands. When believers trust God's provision, they experience ongoing spiritual growth and inner peace, leading to healthy relationships with God and others.   In contrast, dissatisfaction or greed is the root of many conflicts, as James describes (James 4:2-3). This is evident in various situations, such as theft, fights, and disciplinary actions, which often stem from dissatisfaction. Like himself, Paul reminded the Philippian church and us to be content in any situation, trusting God ...

FACE THE CRISIS OF LIFE WITH WISDOM

"For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” James 3:13-18 Devotion, 24th June, 2025 The Value of Wisdom Understanding the value of wisdom, God granted Solomon wisdom when he asked for it to lead his people. Moreover, Solomon recognised that working with people is very challenging and therefore requires more than just power and authority. For instance, in his wisdom, Solomon successfully handled a complex case between two prostitutes over their respective children. This remarkable example shows his wise leadership in confronting real-life challenges (1 Kings 3:16-28).   Implications of Wisdom in Our Lives Building on these foundations, many lack wisdom when confronting life's challenges, and as a result, they end up in despair and destruction. However, the Bible encourages us to dress in wisdom to face life's challenges successfully, much like Solomon in his early years. This is because Wisdom leads to blessings, prosperity, and protec...

RETURN TO THE REALITY OF FREEDOM

"All things are lawful to me, but not all things are helpful. All things are lawful to me, but I will not be brought under the power of any" (1 Cor 6:12).   Devotion, 24th June, 2025 We all have basic needs: food, water, clothes, and leisure time. While these things are essential, they should not control us. Paul warns us against becoming slaves to worldly desires (1 Cor 6:12). Unfortunately, many misinterpret this verse, using it to justify their actions. Some prioritise worldly pursuits over God's laws, forgetting that God will destroy both the temporary and the eternal (vs 13). This reality is uncomfortable, but it is crucial to acknowledge. Some things may seem lawful, but if they lead us away from God, they are not worth it. If all worldly things will perish, who are we to think they are lawful for us? Are we slaves to our desires?  We need to return to the reality of freedom As I reflect on my own life, I know firsthand the struggle when my emotions controlled m...
