PRESIDENT TRUMP IN OBBO VILLAGE, MAGWI COUNTY

I did not know how President Trump reached Obbo, our Village, but the fact is, we had a productive meeting with him. As I was passing by, I heard the village chief calling, "Abonga! Hey, Abonga!" I turned my eyes and met Trump's, whose eyes sparkled. He was jubilant with the villagers, which left me surprised. "Did the spirits welcome him?" I wondered. "Okay, let me attend to the chief's call."

As I approached the gathering, Chief Oketayot, our community leader, introduced me to Trump, saying, ‘This is Abonga.’ As he hugged me, I calmly greeted Trump: ‘Hello, Sir! You are welcome to our great land, a land of ancient secrets that bring fertility to both the people and the land. Nice meeting you.’

Following the greeting, Trump shook my hand violently until the strength hit Got Loti like an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 Mw. I looked into his eyes and realised terror forming like clouds. I felt irritated and shouted, ‘Have you come to harm us? We're not terrorists!’ Trump looked at me with a hint of amusement and said, ‘Calm down, Bona Abonga. I've recognised your concerns for the people of Obbo, and I'm here to offer both technical and financial support to them.’

After Trump's reassurance, his appeal surprised me. How could a modern president venture into a small village like Obbo? Who even informed him about our humble community? Chief Oketayot shot me a suspicious glance, asking his secretary in our local language, "Has Abonga lost his mind?"

In response to the chief's query, I intervened, "Brother Trump, could you kindly outline your policies and their potential impact on our local people? What specific support do you envision for our community?"

Trump then addressed the gathering: “My dear, beautiful people of Obbo, I'm honoured to be here with you today. I travelled 24 hours to reach this special place. We have heard about the challenges you have faced and the difficulties with neighbouring communities. My policies are straightforward: let's work together and cooperate for the betterment of our community.” Trump said, followed by rounds of applause from the community. Men, women and children gathered to listen to him.

As I listened to Trump's words, I concealed my anger for peace, because I knew it was difficult to cooperate with America.
