On this Father's Day: A Letter to My Children

To My Children, with Love

On this Father's Day, I have no wish to cherish one, for I do not have a father to whom I should wish. If I had a father to cherish, I would have wished him a heartfelt wish. A father is not a written object, but a living subject that a child must protect and honour.

There is no market for one to call a father; the love a father gives his child is unmatched. He penetrates him with rods to deepen morals in his roots.  A father's blessing is what matures a child's life.

Be a child who listens with both eyes and ears. Whatever your father loves, love it; whatever he hates, hate it, for that will bring glory and a crown on you. Do not let false urges compromise your ambitions. A father's love and his rod are a divine blessing that sharpen the course of your life. The neglect of his wisdom and the betrayal of his fatherhood are a debt no blood can cleanse.

As you grow, beware of whispers in the air and sweet sounds of the night, for they are traitors born of cursed promises. Growth will take you through many classes, displaying different forms of fathers. Some fathers may have no legs, arms, or eyes, yet no child would trade their poor father for wealth.

With Love from Dad
