In the Bible, one of the central
concepts in the New Testament is Truth, with Jesus as its embodiment (John
14:6). However, truth is often compromised for deception, even by most devout believers.
Scripture reminds us to stand firm, girded with truth (Ephesians 6:14), which
brings freedom, enables us to stand the test of faith, builds strong
relationships, and guides sound decision-making.
As we reflect on the
lives of biblical heroes, we see that Peter (1 Peter 3:13-17) and David (Psalm
51:6) pursued truth and remained steadfast in their faith despite adversity. In
contrast, Ananias and Sapphira's deception led to severe consequences (Acts
5:1-11). These examples challenge us to examine our own lives: Have we ignored
truth and found ourselves deceived?
With that in mind, the
Bible calls us to confront every life crisis with truth to enjoy freedom, grow
in faith, and build better relationships. As we acknowledge our shortcomings,
we can turn to God in prayer.
Dear God, I come before you with all my guilt because I lacked truth in my life. As I read through, I am convicted to confess I need your help, let truth come back and rule my instinct to face every life crisis courageously and faithfully free.
Amen.
May truth be part of us
to face life's crises with integrity, courage, and faithfulness. Let us strive
to live truthfully, seeking God's guidance and wisdom in every aspect of our
lives.
