"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
Should a believer face a crisis in the same way as a non-believer? Every day I log into my Facebook account, I see condolences on friends' timelines accompanied by sad memes and fingers directed at God. Others question God, asking why He permits some beloved individuals to die. This phenomenon, which is not only displayed on social media, is even done by devout believers of all kinds who ought to exhort rather than break down when confronted with a life crisis.
In light of this, let us turn to the Word of God for guidance. Paul's words in Romans 8:28 give us assurance: "All things work together for good to those who love Him." This promise holds for all believers, regardless of the severity and sensitivity of the crisis they are facing. Crisis is part of life's struggle, and everyone will have to face it. All things—good or bad, peaceful or conflictual, death or life—have a purpose crafted by God to occur.
So, how should we respond to a life crisis? Instead of blaming God, others, or circumstances for the crises you encounter, trust in God's love and assurance of the good things that await you. Let us face crises with faith and love, knowing God is working everything out for our benefit. Place your trust in His goodness and sovereignty, and together, let us navigate life's challenges with hope and confidence.
Think about it
Is there anything in your life that is making you question God's love and His promise of good things? How do you plan to face life's challenges without Him? Can you see God's love and assurance even amid a crisis?
Now, pray.
Dear God, I acknowledge
my weaknesses and doubts about Your goodness in times of crisis. I know You are
sovereign and capable of helping me. I trust in Your promise of good things,
and I ask for faith to believe in Your love, even when faced with life's
crises. Help me to love and trust You more and deeper, no matter what comes my
way.
Amen.
